Angeline A. Lavrich

Angeline A. Kunic Lavrich, 96, of Canonsburg, passed away quietly Friday, May 9, 2025, in Concordia of Bridgeville. She was born March 8, 1929, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Matthew and Katherine Kunic. Angeline was the loving wife for 63 years of the late Henry Lavrich. She was the last of her siblings: her brother, Johnny; and sisters, Helen, Ann and Mary. In 1947, she graduated as valedictorian of her class at Bellfield and Morse girls' vocational high school. After graduating, she worked at US Steel as a bookkeeper. She also was employed at Dolly Madison Bakery in Houston. During her younger years she shared her vocal talent in the Slovenian singing group Preseren of Pittsburgh and enjoyed vacationing in various cities throughout the U.S. She was a big supporter of her husband's band traveling alongside him to his many polka dances. She loved doing crafts, gardening, sewing, decorating, baking and having garage sales. Neighbors and shut-ins were recipients of the many baked goods, which she and her husband loved distributing. She is survived by her son, Don Henry (Ellie Wilkes); daughter, Kathy Yeakel (Curtis Treadaway); children, Alyssa Stanley and Thomas Boucher; and many nieces and nephews. A special thank you to the staff of Bridges Hospice, especially Lynn Carrillo and Natalie Kraly for taking good loving care of her. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. Oscar Romero Parish St. Patrick Church, 317 West Pike Street, Canonsburg. Entombment will follow in Allegheny Cemetery, Pittsburgh.
