Arthur S. Alderson Jr.

Arthur S. Alderson, Jr., 87, of Canonsburg, died Thursday, October 9, 2025. He was born August 17, 1938, in Canonsburg, a son of the late Arthur S. and Anna Hatala Alderson. He served his country with the United States Navy, working as a flight electrician. He graduated from Waynesburg College, and worked in construction sales until his retirement. Arthur was a proud member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, in Peters Township. He enjoyed golfing, playing cards, traveling, bowling and especially spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his children: Arthur (Indermohan) Alderson, III of Bloomington, Ind.; Lara (Warren) Alderson- Lundblad of Manassas, Va.; Lynn (Jason) Fox of Saxonburg; and Matthew (Kristy) Alderson of Greensburg; grandchildren, Meera and Neal Alderson, Jacob and Audrey Fox, and Cameron and Matthew Alderson. In addition to his parents, Arthur was preceded in death by his loving wife, Patricia Blanock, who died October 12, 2005. Friends will be received from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, October 12, in Sollon Funeral and Cremation Service, Ltd., 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, PA 15317, Phillip L. Sollon, supervisor, 724-746-1000. Services will be held at noon on Monday, October 13, in the funeral home, officiated by Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
