Audrey Scoumis

Audrey Scoumis, 89, of Canonsburg, died Saturday, August 30, 2025. She was born August 21, 1936, in Rhodes, Greece to George and Victoria Fotaras Kentros. Audrey immigrated from Greece to the United States at the age of 26. She married Petro Scoumis February 17, 1963. Audrey was a faithful member of the All Saints Greek Orthodox Church, where she was involved in the Pan Rhodian Society and was a member of the Philoptochos Society. Prior to her retirement, she was a self- taught and highly sought after seamstress. At the height of her career, she worked with well known designers including Kenneth Cole and couture bridal designer Demetrios. She started working outside of the home at the age of 39. She took part in the grand opening of a Manhattan based high fashion boutique called The Forgotten Woman. She enjoyed designing clothing, decoupage, decorating, gardening, baking pastries during the holidays, and shopping. Audrey is survived by her son, Constantine Scoumis of Canonsburg; daughter, Victoria Scoumis of Canonsburg; granddaughter, Brittany (Kenneth) Petris of Cecil; brother, Michael (Lana) Kentros of McMurray; sister, Tsambika "GiGi" (Michael) Kavalieros of Rhodes, Greece; sister-in-law, Kitty Kentros of Canonsburg; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Petro Scoumis; brother, Gus Kentros; and sister, Ritsa Pihiou. Friends will be received from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, September 2, in All Saints Greek Orthodox Church, 601 W. McMurray Road, Canonsburg, PA 15317. A Trisagion service will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the church. Additional visitation will take place Wednesday, September 3, from 10 until the time of a funeral service at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
