Barry Wright Obituary

Barry H. Wright, 74, of Bentleyville, passed away Monday, October 28, 2024, in McMurray Hills Manor. He was born January 25, 1950, in North Charleroi, a son of the late Hugh W. and Eleanor Haddad Wright. Barry was a 1968 graduate of Bentworth High School. A veteran, he served with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was first employed by BethEnergy Mines, and later retired from Consol, where he was a fire boss and a member of the mine rescue team. He was a member of the American Legion Post 165, Bentleyville. An avid Pittsburgh sports team fan, Barry attended the Steelers Super Bowl XIII in Miami, Fla. He enjoyed shooting pool, watching cowboy movies, his wife's cooking, and listening to classic rock. He loved his three dogs and cat. His wife, Linda S. McGinn Wright, passed away May 22, 2021. He is survived by his sons, Jae Wright of South Park, and Brian W. Wright (Rose) of Bentleyville; a sister, Lynn Pompei of Bentleyville; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased is a brother, Bradley A. Wright. Friends are welcome from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, November 2, in the Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home, Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville, 724-239-2255.
