Carol Serbak Obituary

Carol Serbak, 76, of Canonsburg, died unexpectedly Sunday, January 12, 2025, in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., while vacationing. She was born December 23, 1948, to Frank and Anna Pochiba Wudkwych. Mrs. Serbak was a 1966 graduate of Canon- McMillan High School. She was an active and faithful member of St. Patrick Parish, where she was a secretary and then the director of religious education. She was a member of the Ladies of Charity, Christain Mothers, and spent countless hours volunteering at St. Patrick Parish. Carol was currently working at Sarris Candies. On August 8, 1970, she married her husband, the late John Serbak. She is survived by her son, Shawn (Lori) Serbak of Moon; her daughter, Shelley (James) Brose of Houston; her brother, John (Anna Marie) Wudkwych of Canonsburg; her sister, Beverly (Bill) Mellars of Colorado Springs, Colo.; her sister-in-law, Barb Wudkwych of Hickory; her granddaughters, the loves of her life, Alyssa Serbak, Kayla and Amelia Brose. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her granddaughters, especially teaching them how to cook and bake. She will be sadly missed by many, including many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Frank Wudkwych. Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday, January 20, in Sollon Funeral and Cremation Services, LTD, 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, PA 15317, Phillip L. Sollon, supervisor, 724-746-1000. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 21, in St. Patrick Church, Canonsburg. Burial will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests memorial contributions to Wreaths Across America, Tunnel to Towers Foundation, or National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows, in Carol Serbak's name.
