Carolyn Yoders Obituary

Carolyn J. Patterson Yoders, 87, of Wind Ridge, passed away, Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at Waynesburg Health & Rehabilitation Center. Born October 25, 1936, in Kirby, a daughter of the late William Irwin and Marie Hoy Patterson. Carolyn was a Greene County resident her whole life. She graduated from Waynesburg High School in 1954. Carolyn was a member of the Aleppo Brethren Church. She married Donald M. Yoders on May 21, 1955, and they were happily married for 59 years until his passing on November 24, 2015. Carolyn loved to craft, read books, sewing, and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by four children, Robin L. Gillispie, of Aleppo, Debra D. (Jay) Jones, of Rogersville, Donald W. (Mary Jo) Yoders, of Glen Easton, WV, and Ronald I. (Lori) Yoders, of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; 15 grandchildren, Craig (Caren) Gillispie, Jerrod (Kelli) Gillispie, Cara (Matt) Cunningham, Gary (Brooke) Gillispie, Chelsey (Garett) Johnston, Curtis (Kendra) Jones, DJ (Sarah) Yoders, Travis (Nicole) Yoders, Ashley Yoders, Toby (Karyna) Hughes, Hunter (Kristin) Yoders, Amanda (Shawn) Jensen, Austin, Cole, and Ty Yoders; 30 great- grandchildren, Cheyanne and Cicely Gillispie, Hayden Housel, McKinlee, Harper, and Morgan Gillispie, Caiden, Kyle, and Mila Cunningham, Baby Girl Gillispie, Nolan, Hadley, Lainey, and Kinley Johnston, Felicity Jones, Talen Brown, Eli Yoders, Braxton Yoders, Taylee, Taegen, Weston, and Tinslee Yoders, Waylon, Ryker, and Baby Girl Hughes, Nash, Dixie, Winter, Romeo, and Baby Jensen; sister, Linda McCracken, of Waynesburg; sister-in-law, Emma Lee Patterson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by, great- granddaughter, Peyton Yoders; brother, Bill Patterson and son-in-law, Gary Gillispie. Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, January 26, 2024, at Kesterson-Rush Funeral Home, LLC. 3275 W. Roy Furman Hwy. Rogersville, PA 15359. Telephone: 724-499-5181. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Scott Blair, III, officiating. Carolyn was a member of our Waynesburg High School class of 1954. She was a faithful attendee at our annual reunions. We will miss her.
