Catherine Wytovich, 93, of Bentleyville, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, May 26, 2022 at the Southmont facility of Presbyterian Senior Care.
She was born on May 17, 1929, the daughter of the late Michael and Mary Oftrosky.
On September 19, 1949, she married the love of her life, Michael "Maya" Wytovich, Sr.. Together they enjoyed 66 years of marriage until his death in 2016. Catherine spent her life as a homemaker and mother, raising four strong children along the way.
She was known for being a wonderful cook whose recipes from her Polish and Slovakian heritage were cherished (especially her stuffed cabbage) and will be missed by all who got to enjoy them. She also loved to listen and dance to polka music. Catherine was Catholic and a lifelong member of St. Katharine Drexel parish.
She is survived by her children, Michael Jr. (Polly), Nancy Ann Benhart (Drew), and David (Georgianna); along with seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Marianne Gurdish and Wilma Pascarella.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Mary Oftrosky; her beloved husband, Michael Wytovich, Sr.; her oldest and beloved son, Douglas Wytovich and his wife Cristine; an infant son; a sister, Deloris Shuback; and two brothers, Michael Jr. and Charles Oftrosky.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, in the Greenlee Funeral Home, 619 Main Street, Bentleyville.
A mass of Christian burial will follow at 1 p.m. at St. Katharine Drexel, Bentleyville campus with Rev. Don Chortos officiating. Interment will follow at Beallsville Cemetery.
