I will miss his jokes, his uh huh, his stories about his girls, his music references and overall his presence. RIP. Please watch over your girls. Although youve groomed them for greatness they still need to feel you energy.

We were shocked to hear this news as we were just all together that evening for our last Steel City practice of the season. As always, Chad was smiling, having great conversation with us all, and of course, watching his daughter play hockey. Chad will be greatly missed. Our deepest sympathies to the family.

Chad had a larger than life personality that brought a lot of joy to people's lives. He worked tirelessly to support his family - in fact, I just saw him last summer working part time at PNC park. I remember him yelling my name and I looked over and saw that huge smile. I hope that your girls will always remember that infectious smile. Rest well, Chad.

Chad was such a happy person and this is such a tragic loss of a great person. I feel so sad for his girls and what they have lost but I truly feel sad for chad that he did not get to see them grow up and experience their lives with them. We all felt like we knew his girls because he talked about them all the time. I hope as time goes on they will get thru the grief and remember they had a great dad.

So sad to hear about Chad. We reconnected at work after playing Dek Hockey against one another when we were younger. Also both BP boys. Im just devastated that I only found out today. He talked about his daughters hockey excellence in a way that was so proud. He was clearly a GREAT father. So sad... Joe Janosik

Chad and I met in 1996, we became co-workers,best friends, boyfriend/girlfriend, then fiances, husband and wife, father and mother, then back to best friends as we once began. Chad and I loved Seinfeld when we were younger and always said who could ever pull off a Jerry and Elaine? Well we did, best friends we started and best friends we remained. Chad was hands down Gods favorite Dad, he handled fatherhood with grace, love and instilled hard work, dedication and confidence in them. We love you so much.

Chad was such a remarkably devoted parent, every time I saw him he couldn't wait to tell me about his girls' latest endeavors. His positive energy and kind, gentle spirit were truly unique. I'm thankful I had the pleasure of knowing him, and I send my most heartfelt condolences to his family.

I worked with Chad for about 5 years under Bob Heckla. He was what ever father inspired to be. His girls Kelvin and Garnet were his main focus and many conversations. I remember sharing my lunch with him once; left over smokes BBQ ribs. I drove him crazy with all my BBQ smells over the duration. His cubical was painted of the love he had for his children. I hope Chad is resting easy. I feel so much grief for his children as my daughter had last her father that was only 1/2 the father Chad was to his. He should be painted as a role model for the fathers today and of tomorrow. Ill miss you Angry Elf. I too am grappling at the thought of you not being at BNYM any longer. You truly were a good man and your children and everyone who knew you should be proud.
