Dear Jewel Family: I am writing for my husband, DeWitt T. Haden, whom I believe was Mike's classmate in Pre-flight back in 1957. He had been wanting to search for some of his classmates but is not very good at it so I get the job. I was sorry to see that Mike passed away in February. His birthday was one day before Dee's on the 22nd. I see Mike got out of the navy after serving 6 years. Good for him that he launched another career. Dee would have loved to hear about his animal engagements. We had Schnauzers at one time and always was interested in learning to show them but never did. Dee went on to retire from the Navy after 281/2 yrs. and continued to serve as a Flight Simulator Instructor at Whiting Field (we have lived in Milton for 38 yrs) and retired from there in 2001. He is now disabled after contracting COVID in 2019 so I have caregiving for him during the week to help me out. We hope it will make it to 90 next February. Our condolences to you all in the passing of your father. Dee would have loved sitting down with him and sharing ole sea stories. Again, we're very sorry for your loss. PS: Our oldest son is a graduate of EKU, class of 1983 - Take care and God bless you all. Dewitt & Linda Haden

Mike was our neighbor when we lived on Lindley Rd in Canonsburg. He was a very kind soul.
