Cynthia Carroll

Cynthia "Cindy" Carroll, 57, of Monongahela, died Sunday, May 10, 2015, in UPMC-Shadyside hospital, Pittsburgh.
She was born March 10, 1958, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of Earl and Lorraine Wenzel Arnold of Henderson, Nev., who survive.
Mrs. Carroll was a 1976 graduate of Gateway High School. She was a server for 22 years at Denny's in Belle Vernon, where she was loved by many and brought a smile to all she encountered.
She loved planting flowers, being in the sun or on the beach and reading. She also enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Steelers, but, most of all, she loved her grandchildren and was the most incredible mom and "Meemaw." A very strong woman, she fought a battle with cancer for a much longer time than most.
On May 19, 2001, she married James B. Carroll of Monongahela, who survives.
Surviving, in addition to her parents and husband, are three children, Kelly Yurchison (Craig) of North Huntingdon, Michael Margie of Perryopolis and Kristen Burns (Michael) of Washington County; six grandchildren; a stepson, James W. Carroll (Megan) of Monongahela; two brothers, Dan Arnold (Denese) of Burke, Va., and Jeff Arnold (Anne) of West Newton; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Greenlee Funeral Home, 619 Main Street, Bentleyville, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 15, with the Rev. Kharla Garner officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Charles L. and Rose Sweeney Melenyzer Pavilion and Regional Cancer Center, Second Floor, 1163 Country Club Road, Monongahela, PA 15063, or to Hillman Cancer Center, 5115 Centre Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15232.
