Dan Haggerty Obituary

Dan C. Haggerty, 63, of Washington, passed away Monday, October 23, 2017, in VA Hospital Aspinwall, following a lengthy illness.
He was born May 7, 1954, in Franklin, a son of the late Ralph and Dorothy Haggerty.
Mr. Haggerty attended Mount Lake Terrace High School near Seattle, Wash., and graduated from Seneca Valley High School in Zelienople.
He proudly served his country with the U.S. Navy from 1972 until his honorable discharge in 1975 as a yeoman petty officer third class aboard the USS Hancock.
Mr. Haggerty worked for Bethlehem Mines and Pennsylvania Department of Corrections.
He enjoyed camping, bowling in numerous local leagues, golfing, traveling, going to car shows, playing dartball in the church league and especially spending time with family.
Mr. Haggerty was a member of East Buffalo Presbyterian Church, where he served as an elder, as well as on other various committees.
On July 24, 1976, he married Nancy L. Lobaugh, who survives.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of 41 years, are a daughter, Amy (Zachary) O'Brien; a son, Daniel (Caitlin) Haggerty; two brothers, James Haggerty and Jeffrey (Michele) Haggerty; special brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins; and his church family.
He was a loving Pap Pap to Harper and Charlotte O'Brien and Madison Haggerty.
Mr. Haggerty also leaves behind his dog, Fritter.
Deceased, in addition to his parents, is a brother, Ralph Haggerty.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 28, in East Buffalo Presbyterian Church, 180 East Buffalo Church Road, Washington, PA 15301. Private interment will be held at a later date in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to East Buffalo Presbyterian Church Building Fund, 180 East Buffalo Church Road, Washington, PA 15301, or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Our thoughts and Prayers to Nancy and children. Arlene and I are very sad to hear about Dan's passing. Worked with him a number of years at SCIP and we had camped and fished tighter on occasions. He will be missed.

Will miss his laugh and making him laugh.Dan had a wide awakening when he married into this family.He and Nancy were blessed with to wonderful children and Grandchildren.
