Daniel W. Grannis

1943 - 2016

Daniel W. Grannis, 72, of Lawrence, formerly of South Fayette Township, died unexpectedly Wednesday, September 21, 2016.
He was born December 15, 1943, in Homestead, a son of the late William and Margaret Grannis.
On April 30, 1966, he married Patricia "Patty" Shaffer.
Mr. Grannis was the loving father of Carolyn (Bill) Griffiths; cherished and adored grandfather of Ryann, Cameron and Mallory Griffiths; brother of Denis (Gail) Bell, George (Annie) Bell and the late Nancy (Patrick) Logan; brother-in-law of Charlie (CC) Shaffer; and uncle of Lori (Mike) Hanson, Cathy (Brad) Angel and Jennifer (Paco) Carioli.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a true family man.
Mr. Grannis lived for his family and acted as the family mascot, by never missing an event or activity in which his daughter or granddaughters were involved.
Friends will be received from 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Warchol Funeral Home Inc., 3060 Washington Pike, Bridgeville, 412-221-3333, where a service will be held at 9 a.m. Monday, September 26, with the Rev. John Dykstra officiating. Interment will follow in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township, with full military honors.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wounded Warrior Project.
