Deborah L. Young

Deborah L. Young, 67, of Wesley Chapel, North Carolina, formerly, Raleigh, NC and Houston, PA, passed away peacefully, Thursday, May 9, 2024, in her home. She was born September 30, 1956, in Washington, PA, a daughter of Willa Mae Jackson Young of Houston and the late Louis A. Young. Ms. Young was a 1974 graduate of Chartiers Houston High School. She was employed for 36 years at IBM Corporation where he held several Administrative and Management position Debbie achieved high administrative service branch and local awards. While at IBM, she served as large client liaison, building relationships, fostering teamwork, driving timely accounts receivable, payables and contract management excellence. Deborah considered her service to the Lord as her greatest accomplishment. She was a former member of the Payne AME Church in Canonsburg and later attended St Paul AME Church in Raleigh, NC. Her enjoyments include watching cooking shows and making new dishes and baking, listening to music, shopping and spending time with her great nieces and nephews and family. Surviving in addition to her mother are a brother, Douglas L. Young Sr. (Jacqueline) of Wesley Chapel, N.C.; an Aunt Noreen Adams of Norfolk, Va.; brother-in-law Cordell Bennett of Greensburg; nephews, Douglas L. Young Jr. (Judy) and Corey Bennett; a niece Jessica Johnson (Andrew Duncan); two great- nieces, Kierra and Kionna; two great- nephews Owen and Wyatt and many loving cousins and friends that will dearly miss her. In addition to her father, a sister Karen Sue Bennett is deceased. Friends will be received from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, in the McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, Owner/Supervisor, 27 Cherry Ave., Houston, PA 15342, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 17, 2024. Interment will follow in Oak Spring Cemetery, Canonsburg.
