I grew up next to Mr. & Mrs. Bernard from the time that I was 10 years old in 1970. I always enjoyed visiting with them in their kitchen, garage, and in their beautiful backyard. One of my favorite memories was of the day that they invited me over for tripe soup. They had invited me over for many snacks over the years and I always enjoyed whatever they offered. Until tripe soup day. As Mrs. Bernard set it down in front of me, I remember looking at it and asking "What is tripe?. She smiled and told me what it was. After much thought, I politely took a few bites and then headed for home! I think it must be an acquired taste.
Here´s to a life well-lived! Rest in Peace, Mrs. Bernard.
