Elizabeth "Pearl" Arbogast, 86, of Burgettstown, passed away peacefully, with family by her side, Sunday afternoon, January 15, 2023, in Heritage Valley Sewickley.
She was born February 24, 1936, in Nestorville, W.Va., a daughter of the late Dallas and Mary Bell Shaffer.
Mrs. Arbogast was of strong Godly faith and a member of the Clinton Wesleyan Church. She was devoted to reading her Bible daily and taking notes. She was a hard working homemaker who enjoyed sewing and crocheting. The best mother, grandmother and friend, she loved being with her family and dog, Buddy.
Her husband, Arnold Lee Arbogast, whom she married August 4, 1956, passed away January 2, 1995, at the age of 61.
She is survived by her children, Gwendolyn Marie Ervin of Burgettstown, Larry Neil Arbogast (Tonya) of Washington, Debbie Lynn Arbogast of Weirton, W.Va., Judith Ann Wands of Weirton, Juanita Dempe (Roger) of Oregon, Brenda Lee Rommes (Andy) of Burgettstown; 25 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; a brother, Ted Shaffer (Eileen) of South Carolina; a brother-in-law, Dan Arbogast (Linda) of Durbin, W.Va.; sister-in-law, Maxine Cromer of Durbin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to her parents and husband, are her brothers, Clarence Shaffer (Rose), Cliffford Shaffer, Murl Shaffer; and her sister, Roseanna Drazich (Steve); sons-in-law, William Ervin and John Wands; eight brothers-in-law; and three sisters-in-law.
Family and friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, January 19, and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, January 20, in Slater Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., BURGETTSTOWN, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 21, with Pastor Ted J. Chapman officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Prospect Cemetery, Hickory.
