Ernest Getsinger Obituary

Ernest J. Getsinger, 83, of Eighty Four, passed away peacefully Monday, January 20, 2025, in his home, with his loved ones at his side. He was born July 23, 1941, in Washington, a son of the late Anthony and Susan Getsinger. Mr. Getsinger was a graduate of Madonna Catholic High School in Weirton, W.Va. He had worked as an auditor for Thrift Drug and J.C. Penney. Ernest was a veteran, having served with the U. S. Airforce. For many years, he showed and trained quarter horses. Surviving are his wife, Sherry Crawford; his daughter, Lorie Shinsky (Ron) of Eighty Four; grandson, Ryan Shinsky (Layne); and great- grandson, Bennett Shinsky. Deceased, in addition to his parents, are a grandson, Corbin Shinsky; a brother, Father Ronald Getsinger; and a sister, Linda Grype. At the request of the deceased, all services are private. The family would like to thank Gateway Hospice, especially Megan for the wonderful care. Arrangements have been entrusted to the McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, owner/supervisor, 27 Cherry Avenue, Houston, PA 15342.
