Frank Gomez Obituary

Frank Gomez, a beloved husband, father and grandfather known for his robust spirit and unwavering devotion to family, passed away peacefully in his home Saturday, August 30, 2025, at the age of 86. Born January 25, 1939, in Fayette County, Frank's journey through life was one marked by dedication, humor, and unyielding strength. A proud Navy veteran, he served with distinction aboard the USS Independence, embodying the values of service and sacrifice that would follow him throughout his life. His work ethic was legendary; for 43 years, he poured his talent into Troyer Farms as a plant manager, while also working at the Meadows Racetrack in admissions. In his "retirement", he started and managed the daily operations of 980 self-storage. His ability to fix anything and everything became a hallmark of his character. Frank was a craftsman and an entrepreneur who believed deeply in the value of hard work. Education laid the foundation for Frank's achievements; as he graduated from Chartiers Houston High School, it was his life experiences that honed his wisdom and kindness. Frank had a quiet demeanor, often speaking volumes through his actions rather than words. His humor brought joy to those around him, and his generous heart knew no bounds. He took pride in being known as the best father, husband and grandfather, creating a legacy that his family cherishes deeply. On February 11, 1961, Frank married the love of his life, Susanne Getto, an enduring partnership that brought forth a nurturing environment for their children. His family blossomed with his son, Frank Gomez; and daughters, Beth (Mark) Kairush, and Tina Marie (Mark) Socinski. As a grandfather, he delighted in the lives of his grandchildren, Weylin (fiancee Amy) Gomez, Andrew (Kathyrn) Gomez, Marcus Kairush, Maison Kairush, and Bernie McGroder, each of whom was a source of incredible pride for him. He was the brother of Robert (Philomena) Chuey. Frank found solace and enjoyment in the garden, his green thumb particularly adept at coaxing blooms from roses and cultivating vegetables. Weekday golf outings with his buddies were another cherished avenue for camaraderie and laughter, representing the joys of life that Frank held dear. He leaves behind not only his devoted family, but also countless friends and acquaintances who were touched by his kindness, generosity, and unwavering support. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Andrew and Mary Chuey; sisters, Helen and Sue; and brothers, Manuel, Jose, Russell and Louis. In the tapestry of life that Frank wove, his threads were rich with love, laughter and resilience. His absence will be felt deeply by all who were privileged to know him. He will be laid to rest, with full military honors, at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. Arrangements have been entrusted to William G. Neal Funeral Home, 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, PA 15301.
