Gladys Neff Behanna

1933 - 2024

Gladys "Cookie" Neff Behanna, 90, formerly of Bentleyville, passed away Friday, April 19, 2024, at Southmont of Presbyterian SeniorCare, Washington. She was born on September 9, 1933, in Charleroi, a daughter of the late Charles and Julia Mayerchak Neff. She was a former member of the Bentworth Senior Center and formerly worked at Model Dry Cleaners and Elish Cabinets. Mrs. Behanna loved to travel, walking on the beach picking sea shells, building puzzles, playing Euchre and bird watching. She enjoyed watching sports, especially the Pittsburgh Steelers. On December 10, 1954, in Bentleyville, she married Ralph E. Behanna, who passed away December 6, 1994. Surviving are her daughters: Shirley Manzini of Bentleyville, Sherry DeFranks of Centerville and Toni Behanna of Eighty Four; granddaughters: Sheila Harosky, Nicole Anderson and Mikayla DeFranks; great-grandsons: Christopher Harosky, Joshua Anderson, Logan Anderson, Noah Harosky and Jaxton Anderson; soon to be great- great- granddaughter, Paisley Rae Harosky; grand-dog, Scrappy; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are her siblings: Charles and Ronald Neff, Cecilia McGinn and Norma Martin. The family is grateful for the personal care given to Mrs. Behanna by the fourth floor Woodside staff at Southmont Presbyterian SeniorCare and Gateway Hospice. Friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 22, at the Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville, 724-239-2255, where a service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 23, with the Reverend Jude Urso, officiating. A procession will follow to Mon Valley Memorial Park, Donora, for a committal service. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the family, who will forward the memorials to the Woodside Unit of Southmont, to be used for the residence's activities.
