Gloria Collins Femovich

Gloria Collins Femovich, 84, passed away Saturday, May 17, 2014, in Simpson Meadows Assisted Living Community, Downingtown.She grew up at 234 North Craig Street in Pittsburgh and was a graduate of Schenley High School.Resolutely devoted to her family, she raised three sons, Walter "Rick," Robert and David.Mrs. Femovich lived in Midway for 60 years, mostly on Dickson Street. She worked for many years in the cafeteria at Fort Cherry High School. She was a longtime member of St. Ann's Catholic Church in Bulger and did volunteer work there for years. She spent the last 14 months of her life at Simpson Meadows.Mrs. Femovich was a caring and kind woman who touched many people with her generous spirit. Her tireless commitment to raising her sons and witnessing their success and happiness brought much joy and pride to her life.Surviving are sons, Rick and his wife, Monica, Bob and his wife, Carolyn, and Dave and his wife, Deborah; five grandchildren, Amber, Amanda, Tierney, Mahala and Cole; and a great-grandchild, Kaia.Deceased are her husband, Walter "Whitey" Femovich, who died August 25, 2001, at the age of 80; her mother, Sophie Stevens; and sisters Rose Stinson and Jane Gemo.Friends and family are invited to visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday in Thomas-Little Funeral Service Inc., 106 St. John Street, Midway, 724-796-3301, where a blessing service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 24. Interment will follow in Center Cemetery, Midway.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Mrs. Femovich's memory to Alzheimer's Foundation of Pittsburgh, 1100 Liberty Avenue, Suite E-201, Pittsburgh, PA 15222, or to St. Ann's Parish, 967 Grant Street, Bulger, PA 15019.
