Grace O. "Honey Doll" Richards, 91, of Hickory, died Thursday, November 2, 2017, in her home.
She was born June 18, 1926, in Cecil Township, a daughter of the late William R. and Grace Rehak Wade.
Mrs. Richards worked as a switchboard operator for Bell Telephone. She also worked as a tour guide for Meadowcroft Village in Avella.
She enjoyed playing bingo, cards, gambling and crafting. She also made band boxes and sold them all over the world.
On October 19, 1946, she married Edward P. Richards, who died July 15, 1982.
Surviving are a daughter, Sandra M. (James) Bongiorni of Burgettstown; two sons, Mark P. Richards of Canonsburg and Timothy W. Richards of Hickory; a sister, Marlene Baumgardner of Rochester; a brother, William (Rose) Wade of Charlestown, Va.; 10 grandchildren, Jill Zihar, Emily Pitzer, Mario Bongiorni, Marlo Youschak, Sharlo Tkalcevic, Darlo Bongiorni, Mara Richards, Mark E. Richards, Wade Richards and Luke Richards; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Deceased, in addition to her parents and husband, is a son, Edward B. "Buzz" Richards.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., the time of a blessing service, Sunday, November 5, in Nation Funeral Home Inc., 220 East Lincoln Avenue, McDonald, with the Rev. Ben Vaghetto officiating.

I use to work at Corwin Jeep and got to know Grace during that time frame. I loved her personality. She took care of her grandchildren when needed and told it just like it was!! You had a special mom and grandmother. Treasure her memories!
