Harriet Ethel Kubicar

Harriet Ethel Kubicar, 94, of Marietta, Ga., died Saturday, August 16, 2025. She was born December 10, 1930, in Canonsburg, to Albert Powell and Harriet Black Gardner. A graduate of Cecil High School, Harriet worked at RCA for 20 years, assembling radios and making records. During her youth and young adulthood, she was active at the East End Chapel and was a long-time member of Canonsburg United Presbyterian Church. She was also a former Girl Scout leader who enjoyed camping and hiking. After leaving RCA to care for aging parents and her daughter, Harriet was a committed volunteer who served as a church deacon, organized funeral luncheons, and worked with Meals on Wheels. Her love of reading sustained her throughout her life. Harriet is survived by her daughter, Belinda (Eric) Vogel of Marietta, Ga.; her grandchildren, Zachary and Elijah Vogel of Marietta; brother, James Powell of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; numerous nieces and nephews; her brother-in-law, Joseph Kubicar and sister-in- law, Theresa Kubicar, both of Pittsburgh. In addition to her parents, Harriet was preceded in death by her husband, John P. Kubicar; and six siblings. Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, August 22, in Sollon Funeral and Cremation Service, Ltd., 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, PA 15317, Phillip L. Sollon, supervisor, 724-746-1000, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 23. Interment will follow in Oak Spring Cemetery.
