James Misanik Obituary

James J. "Musher" Misanik, 71, of New Eagle, died Sunday, June 18, 2017, in Donnell House, Washington.
Born June 7, 1946, in New Eagle, he was a son of the late Joseph and Helen Paulick Misanik.
After his graduation from Monongahela High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served in the Vietnam War, stationed mostly in Africa and Lybia.
He retired in 1987 from Boiler Makers Local Union 906 and 154 as a welder.
Mr. Misanik was a member of St. Damien of Molokai Parish in Monongahela, Charleroi Archery Club and AMA remote control airplane club in Mingo.
Surviving are his wife, Linda Miller Misanik; two daughters, Patience (James) Herman of Ligonier and Tammy O'Hearn of New Eagle; three sisters, Joyce Misanik (Rick Allen) of New Eagle, Janet (James) Bath of New Eagle and Joanne Misanik of New Eagle; a sister-in-law, Jean Misanik of New Eagle; along with several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death is his twin brother, Joseph Misanik, who died November 29, 2015.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Marshall Marra Funeral Home, 216 Chess Street, Monongahela, 724-258-6767, marshallmarrafuneralhome.com, where services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 21, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Damien of Molokai Parish, Monongahela, with Father William Terza as celebrant. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Carroll Township, with military honors conducted by Mon-Valley Honor Guard and Firing Squad.
