James E. "Jim" Wheeler, 68, of South Strabane Township, died Monday, October 11, 2021.
He was born July 16, 1953, in Washington, a son of James O. and Margaret Nelle Spicer Wheeler.
Jim worked for South Strabane Township road department from where he retired in 2013. He was a member of South Strabane Volunteer Fire Department, a former counselor at Camp Buffalo, and a Boy Scout leader. Jim enjoyed building things from scratch, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.
Surviving are two sons, Brandon (Dana) Wheeler of Hickory and Jordon (Sarah) Wheeler of Mt. Morris; two sisters, Carol Sefton of Maryland and Patricia Wright of Colorado; five grandchildren, Reese, Elias, Gavin, Judah and Abigail Wheeler; and his care giver for many years, Kathy Wheeler.
Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, October 13, in Nation Funeral Home Inc., 220 E. Lincoln Avenue, McDonald, where services will take place at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, October 14. Interment will follow at the Washington Cemetery.
