Jean Howard Obituary

Naomi Jean Howard, 96, of Washington, formerly of Venetia, passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2025. Born March 2, 1929, in Upper St. Clair, she was a daughter of the late Alvie C. and Grace Emerick. She was the beloved wife to the late James Howard; sister to Al "Spike" Emerick; mother-in-law to George Snyder and Cindy Howard. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her children, Debbie Snyder and Bill Howard; and siblings, Don Emerick and Lauretta Green. In her free time, Jean frequently indulged in maintaining her garden. Equally gifted in stained glass, she crafted pieces to share with her family and friends. For 40 years, Jean gathered every week with her dear friends for pinochle, her laughter and gentle competitiveness making each game memorable. Her Christmas gatherings were an annual tradition that filled her home with joy and became one of the brightest memories for nieces and nephews, reflecting her generous spirit and love of family. A memorial service will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 6, in the Christian Bible Fellowship, 15 Middle Way, Washington, PA 15301. A luncheon will follow after the service. Arrangements were entrusted to Pittsburgh Cremation and Funeral Care.
