Jeffrey Hemmings Obituary
He was born May 12, 1971, in New Eagle, a son of David Hemmings of Lakeside, Ariz., and Charlotte Fircak Colbert of Finleyville.
Mr. Hemmings was employed as a machinist at Perryman Forge & Fabricating Co., Houston.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Persian Gulf War and was a member of Thomas Presbyterian Church in Eighty Four, where he was active with the Food and Friends Program.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, are his wife, Christine Claxton Hemmings; two stepsons, Vincent Claxton Jr. (Stephanie) and Christopher Claxton (Martha), both of Spotsylvania, Va.; a stepdaughter, Pattianne Claxton (Ray) of Eighty Four; seven stepgrandchildren, Maggie, Bentley, Lily, Madison, Allie, Kiley and Ava; a sister, Jennifer Salmon (Christopher) of Finleyville; a niece, Isabella; a nephew, Jacob; paternal grandparents Herbert and Shirley Hemmings of Lakeside; a stepfather, David Colbert; and his father's longtime companion, Auriah.
Deceased are his maternal grandparents, Charles and Alice Fircak.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no public visitation.
Friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, March 12, in Thomas Presbyterian Church, 1068 Linden Road, Eighty Four, PA 15330, with the Rev. Peggy Shannon officiating. Full military honors will be accorded by the Mon Valley Honor Guard.
Memorial contributions can be made to Food and Friends, 580 Green Valley Road, Eighty Four, PA 15330.
Arrangements are under the direction of Kegel Funeral Home Inc., Tim P. Kegel, supervisor, David P. Kegel, director, in Finleyville.

Honey, I can't believe that you were taken away so soon, we were doing what we loved.we were making our dreams come true. We both loved our life we lived and were living the life we loved. I know your body might not be here but your present is Still much alive and will remain as long as I so live. You were my best friend, my World, my life and my soul mate. I will miss you more then you could ever imagine but I'm sure your a little lost without me too, I know your here with me cause I see the little signs you show me. Kiley misses her PAP's and Bentley is being so strong helping me with all the animals he tell you he loves and miss you all the time. He said Grandma PAP's is our guardian angel now. He Also let me know "we got this!" I just want you to know that I love you more then life it self and I miss you I will make you proud & carry on Our dreams cause you will be right beside Me every step of the way!!! Until we are together again.
