Joan Elizabeth Oprosky, 89, of Canonsburg, died Monday, December 21, 2020.
She was born January 15, 1931, in Cecil, a daughter of the late Frank and Bertha Kiemes Panteles.
On April 25, 1949, she married John Oprosky, with whom she shared more than 60 years of marriage, who died December 6, 2010.
Joan was a hard worker. She started working at the age of 15 for Mercy Hospital. She then went on to work for the RCA and Canonsburg Hospital. She retired from Western State School and Hospital after 24 years of service. Joan was a high energy Grandma, who loved to play, laugh and help with her grandkids. She had a strong spirit and a sharp sense of humor. She was a wonderful cook and loved to bake and her family loved it when she did.
Surviving are her son, John A. Oprosky Jr. of Canonsburg; two daughters, Joanna Lynn Oprosky of Canonsburg and Elizabeth (Bob) Miller of Washington; three grandchildren, Jonnah (Jennifer) Oprosky, Robert (Rebecca) Miller, Courtney Miller; five great-grandchildren, Keaton, Kamryn, Robert, Olivia and Sara.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Joan was preceded in death by her son, Bruce Oprosky.

There will be no public visitation. Services and burial in the St. Mary's Cemetery will be private.
