John Parker Obituary

John C. Parker, 79, of Masontown, formerly of Waynesburg and Carmichaels, passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2024, in his home. He was born February 12, 1945, in Waynesburg, a son of the late John George and Laverne Conrad Parker. Mr. Parker was a 1963 graduate of Waynesburg High School. He owned and operated Paint by Parker from 1974 until his retirement in 2010. Auto body repair was a big part of his life and he loved the challenge of restoring vehicles. Mr. Parker was an active member and served for 44 years in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Waynesburg and Uniontown, including many different leadership positions throughout that time. He loved the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. Mr. Parker enjoyed gardening, woodworking, building furniture as well as building and remodeling many homes in the area. On July 15, 1989, he married Cynthia Hope Allen Parker, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, John Michael Parker of Asheboro, N.C., and Bradley Eddy (Rachel) of Pittsburgh; three daughters, Amy Lynn Parker (Jim) of Langley, Wash., Jennifer Ann Grover (Greg) of Castle Pine, Colo., and Hope Renee Call (Matthew) of Charleston, W.Va.; six grandchildren, Ken McClure, Ryan Parker, Brooke Parker, Sydney Parker, Jacob Grover and Kory Ray Postle; two great-grandchildren, Ila Parker and Riley Parker; a brother, the Rev. William Parker (Sara) of Greensboro; and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 6 p.m. Saturday, November 2, in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 105 Powell Lane, Waynesburg, PA 15370. Arrangements are being handled by Yoskovich Funeral Home, Martin J. Yoskovich, owner/funeral director, and Aaron S. Walker, funeral director, Carmichaels.
