Joseph Edward Behanna Sr.

Joseph Edward Behanna Sr., 73, of Washington, died Monday, November 21, 2016, in his home.
He was born November 5, 1943, in Washington, a son of the late Amos Behanna and Audrey Belcher Behanna.
Mr. Behanna was a horse owner and groomsman at Meadows Racetrack, retiring in 2002.
He was a member of Meadows Track Chapel.
Mr. Behanna loved his family and was an avid hunter, fisherman, trapper, pigeon racer, coon hunter and horseman. He enjoyed blues music and dancing and loved animals.
Surviving are three sons, Joseph E. (Lisa) Behanna Jr. of Washington, Amos (Paige) Behanna of Indianapolis, Ind., and Andrew (Amanda) Behanna of Washington; three daughters, Tammy (Kenny) McCombs of Washington, Jody Colbert of Washington and Marcia Smith of Washington; two sisters, Henrietta (William) Powell of Scenery Hill and Mary (Jim) Clemens of West Alexander; 14 grandchildren, Dale and William Sibert, Carley, Kayla, Lillyann and Rudy Behanna, Korey, Kevin and Amber McCombs, Micah and Travis Elliott, Austin and Anastasia Locy and Tyler Smith; three great-grandchildren, Faith, Keira and Joseph Dale Sibert; a son-in-law, Eric Elliott of Spraggs; his former wife, Patricia Garrett of Washington; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to his parents, are a daughter, Patti Jo Elliott; his first wife, Linda L. Miller; a brother, Andrew "Bud" Behanna; his best friend, Jimmy Donley; and a nephew, Melvin Arthur.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 7 p.m., the time of service, Saturday, November 26, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, with Pastor Joe DiDonato officiating. Burial will be private.
