I am sorry to hear of Joe's passing. He was my algebra teacher at Ellsworth High and later a fellow teacher at Beth Center. I always enjoyed talking to him. He will be missed by many.

I worked at Centerville Clinics with Joe's wife, Millie, and Joe often baked bundt cakes for the reception area staff. Joe was always cheerful and pleasant to be with.

Mr. Zedar was a great teacher, mentor and role model. His sense of humor was his trademark. My favorite comment, which I've quoted often was when he said, "Some of you say that Algebra is all Greek to you. So later on when you're studying Greek you better say that Greek is all Algebra to me." Blessings and comfort to the Zedar family.

Mr. Zedar was a great role model, encourager and teacher but his sense of humor made him special. I always remember him commenting how people often say "This algebra is all Greek to me." He continued, "So someday when you're studying Greek you better say this is all algebra to me."
It was obvious that he truly cared about his students. I'm still impacted by him. Blessing and comfort to the Zedar family.

Mark,
Your father made math interesting but he was even more passionate about educating us about life, family, working hard. He struck me as someone who could have taught anywhere and we were lucky to have him at BC. You may not know, but he spoke of you often in class -- so proud of you and your accomplishments. It's been 35 years, but I can see and hear him vividly. That's the kind of impact he had on our class. Deepest regards to your family on his passing.

My deepest sympathy to your family. I had him for my home room teacher and he was always so nice and had a great sense of humor. RIP Mr. Zedar.

RIP Mr. Zedar! I wasn't a big math fan but you did make it fun.
