Lemonia Glaros

WARREN - Lemonia (Lee, Nellie) M. Glaros, 94, of Warren peacefully passed late Friday evening, March 20, 2026.

Lemonia was born October 21, 1931 in Wilkinsburg, PA to Vassilios and Angelica (Herouvis) Moraitis.

A 1949 honors graduate of Verona High School, Lemonia won full scholarships to the University of Pittsburgh. She earned honors degrees in education, a bachelor's in 1953 and master's in 1956. She worked at the Pennsylvania Employment Service, then taught at Deer Township High School. Lemonia was awarded a Fulbright assignment by the United States Department of State to teach English in Athens, Greece.

In Greece, Lemonia met and married Elias Glaros. They settled in Verona, PA where Lemonia taught at Pittsburgh Business College. In 1960, they moved to Warren, OH. She taught Business and English at Trumbull Business College then Southington High School. Lemonia pioneered one of the first high school computer classes in Trumbull County with one Radio Shack computer and a data cassette tape. Lemonia retired from teaching in 1988. She had organized many memorable trips for her students.

Lemonia was dedicated to her faith and Greek heritage. As a member of St. Demetrios Church, she taught Sunday School and belonged to the Seniors and Yasou Clubs She was a life-long member of the Pan-Ikarian club, the oldest Greek-American philanthropy. She loved the arts and enjoyed attending the theater, concerts and art shows. Above all, she adored her family and her loving presence will be missed by her family, friends.

Lemonia will be remembered by her husband of 68 years, Elias Glaros; daughters, Koula Glaros-King (Curtiss C.) and Angela Glaros Eisen (Jerry); grandchildren, Mary Lee King, Elias C. King (Rachelle), Curtiss J. King and his son Barrett, Jacob Eisen and William Eisen; sisters, Filia Caloyer (Thomas) and Chris Panos; sisters-in-law, Aristea Moraitis and Athena Glaros, and many loved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Lemonia was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, John and Marino Moraitis; sister, Katherine Villemaire and brothers-in-law, Tony Panos and John Glaros.

Family and friends may visit and pay tribute to Lemonia on Saturday, March 28, 2026 from 10 am to 11 am at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 429 High St. NE, Warren, OH 44481; a funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the church, with the Rev. Constantine Valantasis and the Rev. Demetri Constantine presiding. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
