Judy Lynn Brodnick

Judy Lynn Brodnick, 82, of Washington passed peacefully the morning of June 7, 2023 after a lengthy illness.
Judy a daughter of the late Violet B. and Orval Ralph Eckels.  
She was a graduate of Ellsworth High School and then went on to Beauty school in Charleroi.  Judy was a hairdresser for 50 years, working from a shop in her home.  She also worked as a babysitter/nanny for four families, taking care of 11 children over the years.  
On October 2, 1964 she married David Brodnick.  Together they shared 58 years of marriage.
Surviving in addition to her husband, are their daughter, Leslie Brodnick and husband Matthew Grimm of Washington; as well as many loving nieces and nephews.  Deceased in addition to her parents, are two brothers, James Patrick Eckels and David Michael Eckels.
Judy was an active member of the Davidson United Methodist Church.  She was an avid bowler and also enjoyed Racketball. Judy loved attending her daughter's swim meets and later became involved by serving many years as an official and timekeeper.  She trained and became a certified PIAA official at the High School level.
She loved playing cards with family and friends as well as her nights out to play bingo.  She loved picnics by the pool and s'mores at the fire pit with family, friends, and granddogs.
She had  a passion for baking and making each family members favorite pie or cake.  She would often reminisce about the "good old days" and how much she enjoyed square dancing.
Judy will be remembered as a kind, caring, friendly, wonderful wife, mother, and friend.  She will be missed by all who loved her.  
Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday in the Nichol Funeral Home 1873 East Maiden Street Washington where additional visitation will be held on Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. with funeral services to follow with Pastor Patty Comini-Miller officiating.  An online guestbook may be signed at Nichol Funeral Home : Washington, Pennsylvania (PA)
