Julius Balog, 91, of Canonsburg, went to be with God on Friday, December 24, 2021. Julius died from complications from COVID pneumonia.
Julius was born in 1930, to Andrew and Mary Balog. He was preceded in death by 12 brothers and sisters.
He was a veteran of the Korean War. Serving in United States Air Force in Japan and Korea, and received the Korean service medal. After his discharge, Julius spent his working years with the Ford Motor company in Ohio.
Julius was a man with many stories – most of them true. The kind of stories that made you smile. Julius was a giving and caring man. Most evident in his generosity to his family and to the charities he cared so deeply about; St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, and the Kidney Research Foundation.
Julius is survived by his nephews, James R Noon, Jr. (Arlene), Gary Cadez (Mary), John Milik, Ron Kernich; and his niece, Joni Pusz (Ron). Also, several great and great great nieces and nephews.
Julius was also blessed with his good buddy Mike Sebetich who sadly passed away earlier this year.
Julius always said " I always thought I'd live to be 95 and then just go." He almost made it.
