She was born August 8, 1929 in Houston, PA a daughter of the late Salvatore and Anna Marie Levato Mazza. She loved volunteer work and volunteered at Canonsburg Hospital for more than 30 years. Kathryn was a member of St. Patrick Church, and the Christian Mothers of St. Patrick. She was filled with the desire to help with many church functions including fish fries, church festivals, bake sales and any other activity that she could find to lend a helping hand. She loved cooking (Especially Italian), family gatherings, loved children and spending time with all of her many family members. Her husband Patsy Aquilino passed away in 1988. Surviving is her niece, who lovingly knew her as "Mama", and was like a daughter to her in every way, Dana (Brian) Kiger of McDonald, and her great-nieces and nephews, who were like grandchildren to her in every way; Kayla (Blair Oldaker) Kiger of South Park, Nicholas Kiger of Harrisburg, Nathan Kiger of McDonald and Kathryn Kiger of McDonald. Also surviving are two sisters and a brother Rosina Mazza Spoltore of Oakdale, Joseph (Jean) Mazza of Washington, and Barbara Mazza of Houston. She enjoyed a special friendship with her nephew Michael Spoltore of Oakdale, and many more nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband Patsy, Kathryn was preceded in death by her sister and brothers Antoinette "Marie" Mazza Kendo, Frank Mazza, Sam Mazza and Louis "Rocky" Mazza. At Kathryn's request, all funeral arrangements will be private and will be held at the convenience of the family. Helen Steiner Rice said it best, "Death is a Gateway we all must pass through." Before Aunt Kathryn reached that "Gateway" she shared her time with others through her years of volunteering. Her hospitality was abundantly shared with friends and family whether over morning coffee or Sunday dinners. Thank you Aunt Kathryn
