Kenneth Matthews Obituary

Kenneth Dale Matthews, 81, of Monongahela, died Sunday, November 27, 2016, in his home.
He was born October 29, 1935, in Monongahela, a son of the late Joseph Howard and Grace Kerr Matthews.
Mr. Matthews was a 1953 graduate of Monongahela High School.
He was a U.S. Army peacetime veteran.
Mr. Matthews was a carpenter. He and his brother, Larry, owned and operated Matthew Brothers for numerous years, working throughout the Mon Valley and surrounding areas.
He attended Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Monongahela and was a former member of Monongahela Volunteer Fire Department.
Surviving are a brother, Larry Matthews of Monongahela; his girlfriend, Gerry Sickman of New Eagle, with whom he shared 31 years; 12 nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
Deceased, in addition to his parents, are three brothers, Eugene, Robert and John Matthews.
Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Frye Funeral Home Inc., 427 West Main Street, Monongahela, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 2, with Pastor Perry Billman officiating. Interment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
