Kenneth Dale Matthews

Kenneth Dale Matthews, 81, of Monongahela, died Sunday, November 27, 2016 in his home. He was born October 29, 1935 in Monongahela, the son   of Joseph Howard and Grace Kerr Matthews.
Ken was a 1953 graduate of Monongahela High School and was a US Army peacetime veteran. He was a carpenter by trade and partnered with his brother, Larry, owning and operating Matthew Brothers for numerous years, working throughout the Mon Valley and surrounding areas. Ken attended the Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Monongahela and was a former member of the Monongahela Volunteer Fire Department.
He is survived by his brother, Larry Matthews of Monongahela; girlfriend, Gerry Sickman whom he shared thirty one years with of New Eagle; twelve nieces and nephews, and several great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Eugene, Robert and John Matthews.
Friends will be received on Thursday, December 1, 2016 from 2-8 PM in the Frye Funeral Home, Inc., 427 West Main Street, Monongahela where services will be held on Friday, December 2, 2016 at 11:00 AM with  Pastor Perry Billman officiating. Interment will follow in the Monongahela Cemetery.
