Lawrence Phillis Obituary

Lawrence C. Phillis, 86, formerly of Aliquippa, died Tuesday morning, November 11, 2014, in Friendship Ridge, Beaver.
He was born February 27, 1928, in Burgettstown, a son of the late Carlise S. and Pearl Moore Phillis.
Mr. Phillis worked as a customer service representative for more than 40 years for Peoples Gas, Aliquippa.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean conflict.
Surviving are his children, Deborah and husband John Allison of Georgetown, James and wife Joyce Phillis of Cranberry Township, Margaret (the late Steve) Cunningham of Ohio and Robert and wife Linda Phillis of Independence Township; siblings John Wayne (the late Evelyn) Phillis, Harry Glen and Bernice Phillis, George Irvin and Bernadette Phillis, William Earl and Jane Phillis, Roy (the late Dorothy) Phillis and Susan Jane and husband R. Brian Wilbur; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Friends and family are welcome from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday in McConnell Funeral Home, 447 Pine Street, Hookstown, PA 15050, Daniel M. McConnell, owner/director, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, November 14, with the Rev. Robert W. Kern of Community Bible Church, Aliquippa, officiating. Mr. Phillis will be laid to rest in Mill Creek Hill Cemetery, Georgetown.
The staff on 3 Main in Friendship Ridge treated Mr. Phillis with kindness.
Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Phillis' name to Community Bible Church, 4549 Route 151, Aliquippa, PA 15001.
