Louis McMaster Obituary
He was born December 3, 1928, in Pittsburgh, a son of McClurg and Faye Weaver McMaster.
Mr. McMaster was a graduate of Bethel Township High School.
He was a self-employed earth-moving contractor and owner of Louis M. McMaster Inc. and MACK Equipment Corp. For 65 years, he was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 66.
Mr. McMaster was a former elder of Peters Creek United Presbyterian Church.
He was a member of Antique Caterpillar Machinery Owners Club and was its Man of the Year in 2004. He was a member and past director of Historical Construction Equipment Association and National Pike Steam, Gas and Horse Association. He was a founding member and director of Greater Pittsburgh Chapter of Antique Truck Club of America and a member of Antique Truck Historical Society.
On July 21, 1950, he married Erma Leech, who survives.
Also surviving are three children, Dr. Janet L. McMaster of McDonald and Thomas S. McMaster (Martha) and Judy McMaster Descutner (David), both of Hickory; six grandchildren, Lindsey Jordan Longstreth (Justin), Kathryn McMaster Grant (Michael), Scott McMaster (Donna), Lisa McMaster and Sam Mac and Isabel Descutner; and four great-grandchildren, Zoey and Violet Longstreth, Gunnar Grant and Wyatt McMaster.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the time of service, Wednesday, August 20, in McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, owner/supervisor, 27 Cherry Avenue, Houston, PA 15342. Interment will follow in Mt. Prospect Cemetery, Hickory.

I am just heart broken to hear this news...I had been talking to him over the summer and I was surprised I didn't hear back from him when I left a few voice mails...that was not like him....he was a wonderful man. My husband and I and our children always loved seeing him and your family. we always loved sharing in your family gatherings. I will always remember him. you have my deepest deepest sympathy. Lou was our contact person for the first HCEA show we attended.It was held at the National Pike show grounds in 1999 and he made us feel very welcome. We have attended the show every year since and Lou and Erma have always treated us as good friends. Lou will certainly be missed.
