Lynn Whitener Markovich

Lynn Whitener Markovich, 74, of California Borough, passed away Saturday, September 13, 2025, in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. Lynn was born January 7, 1951, in Washington, a daughter of the late Alfred and Ruth Miclic Whitener. She was a 1968 graduate of Washington High School and went on to Duquesne University and the Washington Hospital School of Nursing, where she earned her RN degree. In 1970, she began working at Washington Hospital in the CCU and ICU Departments ultimately retiring from the GI Lab in 2020 after 50 years of service. Lynn devoted her life to her husband, her career and to caring for others. She also loved reading, working in the yard, and she loved her pets dearly. She was Catholic by faith, a former member of the Immaculate Conception Church of Washington and later a member St. Thomas Aquinas of California. On October 6, 1973, she married Andrew Markovich Jr., who survives. Preceding her in death were her parents; and a brother-in-law, James Stewart.
