Michael Stroud Obituary

Michael Scott Stroud, 56, of Hookstown, passed away unexpectedly Monday morning, February 20, 2017, because of injuries sustained in a foggy car accident on his way to work.
He was born December 16, 1960, a son of Fred Stroud of Hookstown and the late Adella Jane Beal Stroud.
A 1978 graduate of South Side Beaver High School, he was a proud member of United Steelworkers of America, working for Allegheny Technologies Inc. in Midland for 26 years before working for its plant in Lewisville, Ohio.
His beloved wife, Patricia A. "Patti" Gianfrancesco Stroud, whom he married November 4, 2006, survives.
Surviving, in addition to his father and wife, are his two sons, Kaleb Stroud and wife Lindsay and Eric McGraw and wife Jennifer; four grandchildren that will miss his bear hugs, Henry, Ben, Jamie and Charlie McGraw; two brothers, Chuck Stroud and wife Sue and Stuart Stroud and wife Kathleen; his sister, Karen Reese and husband Randy; two sisters-in-law, Mary Dirda and husband Tom and Ursula Smith; two brothers-in-law, Jim Gianfrancesco and wife Eileen and Pete Gianfrancesco and wife Michele; and several nieces and nephews, including Anthony Gianfrancesco, who always looked out for him.
In addition to his mother, he was greeted at heaven's door by his sister-in-law, Julia.
To honor his wishes, there will be no public visitation and services will be held privately by his family. Inurnment will be held in Grandview Cemetery, Florence, at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, prayers are always welcome.
To honor his memory, the family asks others to "leave a note to tell someone how much they mean to you, smile at a stranger and make them your friend, don't wait until tomorrow to say 'I'm sorry' or 'I love you' and laugh – a big, loud, infectious belly laugh. We will miss that most of all."
Arrangements are under the direction of Lee and Martin Funeral Home, 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown, PA 15021.

I remember Mike from Band in High School. All of the Strouds were in Band the same time as me. Good memories. My prayers are with his family.

We are deeply saddened by the loss of Michael. We think we have time, but it seems there just isn't enough time in the world. Although we lost contact, we still thought of you and Patti often. Michael's son, Kaleb is my husband. I hope that when you reach the gates of Heaven, you are greeted by your grandson, Braxton Xavier Stroud, who passed away Sept 17, 2016. Please give him a big bear hug for us, too. So sorry Patti. The whole family is in our thoughts and prayers. Family is forever.

Mike was like a brother to me and my sisters growing up. We played on their swing set and would swing so high it would tip over, road dirt bikes togeather and I remember how proud he was when he bought his first car. He always seemed to have a smile on his face. Mike will be missed and I will charish my memories.

I am so sad to learn of your sorrow and loss. Also, Rich and my kids Richee and Chasity as well. We have been through the losses and relate. Life seems so cruel when it goes right on when we grieve in a world that is surreal.I hope that you find solace in knowing that you are never alone, and your family and friends are there to share with. I know it hurts so bad and so deep. Prayers, hugs and much love to you, the Strouds...a big part of the happiest of memories from my childhood, always. Thank you and I love you all.

Though I knew Michael for only a short time, it was a sweet time. Every conversation I had with him was pleasant and I went away with a smile on my face. He was a positive guy that benefited those who he rubbed shoulders with. We are praying for God's comfort in his family's lives and ours too. We at Louisville will miss him.
