Octavia Nearing Obituary
She was born in Bradford, a daughter of the late Robert Leonard.
Ms. Nearing was a teller at Express Bet at The Meadows for 40 years.
She once attended Glenn Street Free Methodist Church and Fourth United Presbyterian Church.
Ms. Nearing had a great personality and loved everyone, especially her family and grandchildren. She enjoyed HGTV, good food, Elvis Presley music and playing Santa Claus for her family.
Surviving are a son, Lincoln Nearing of Bremerton, Wash.; two daughters, Melinda Nearing of Washington and Piper Nearing of Canonsburg; two brothers, Philip Leonard of Perry, Ga., and Allen Leonardi of San Francisco, Calif.; two sisters, Sandra Mathis of Roswell, Ga., and Patricia Wright of Rochester, N.Y.; and two grandchildren, Brandon Davis and Payton Nearing.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, November 24, with the Rev. Robert Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.

Octavia was one of the nicest ladies anyone could ever know. I worked with her at call a bet, she trained me as she did numerous others. What a "class act."My deepest sympathy to Lincoln, Melinda & Piper.God just got another angel.
