Olan Keener Obituary
He was born December 5, 1926, in Taylortown, Greene County, a son of Olan Ray Keener Sr. and Sylvia Stewart Keener.
Mr. Keener served in the U.S. Coast Guard from May 1949 to September 1952 and in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve from September 1952 to September 1955.
He worked as a sheet metal worker for Manrow & Grable.
Mr. Keener was a member of American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175, Washington, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, Arms Club and Independence Club. He was formerly a member of Masonic Lodge 164, Washington, and Coudersport Consistory.
On May 21, 1950, he married Marie Harn, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, George A. (Suntok) Keener of Virginia; two daughters, Donna Marie (Tim) Grimes of Bentleyville and Linda Pearl (Robert) Hodgens of McComb Township, Mich.; and four grandchildren, Melissa (David) Phelps, Kimberly Keener, Kaile Hodgens and Lindsey Hodgens.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and 10 to 11 a.m., the time of service, Saturday, July 15, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Interment will be held at a later date in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township.
Memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, 301 Grant Street, Suite 900, Pittsburgh, PA 15219.

Olan and I played golf together for many years. My wife and I both worked at the golf course and enjoyed a longtime friendship. Our sympathies to the family.

My deepest sympathy to Mrs. Keener, George, Donna, and Linda along with grandchildren. We never forget those with whom we grew up! Many years, on Hallam Avenue, hold fond and special memories. May God carry everyone during the difficult days ahead, and may memories sustain you in the years ahead!
