Paul D. Walker

Paul D. Walker, 68, of Washington, transitioned to glory Monday, August 25, 2025. He was born May 6, 1957, in Hammond, Ind., a son of the late W. Herman Alexander and Mary Alice Nix Walker. Paul attended Gavit High School in Hammond. He went on to become a co-founder of 2W transfer, where he was a truck driver for many years until retiring from Washington City Mission in Washington. Paul served as an associate pastor at New Life in Christ Church in Washington. In addition to his pastoral duties, he taught Bible study teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ, his Lord and Savior. When not spreading the gospel, he was an avid Chicago sports fan and particularly loved the Chicago Bears. On June 26, 2004, he married Marylin Moss, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Anthony (Samantha) Bobby-Walker; daughter, Stephanie Bobby; stepsons, Donald Smith, Jr., Rodney (Kelly) Smith, and Joey (Katie) Moss; stepdaughters, Gayle (Joseph) Williams, and Tenica Fowlkes; sisters, Pastor Lureta Logan, Gundolyn "Evon" Julkes, Myra Jean Brown, Alice Fay Walker, Willie May "Honey" Walker, Angel Walker, Barbara (Larry) Walker-Foote, Sandy Pilgrom, Phylis (Clee) Williams, Shirley Walker- Sheppard, and Deborah Walker-Bens; brothers, Paul A. (Jeanette) Walker, Leonard (Donna) Walker, Wayne (Vandalia) Walker, and Lewis (Mabel) Walker; a host of grandchildren, great- grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews; and a dear friend, Erik Payne. Deceased, in addition to his parents, are sisters, Betty Jo Harris, Patricia A. Fullmer, and Carol Joyce Wooley; brothers, Darryl, Donnel, William "Sonny", Raymond Walker; and dear friend, Eric Cryer. Family and friends will be received from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, September 4, in the New Life in Christ Church, 600 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, September 5.
