Philip Thomas Daly, 91, of West Alexander, passed away Tuesday, January 25, 2022, in his home.
He was born November 9, 1930, in Yonkers, N.Y., a son of the late Thomas and Nora Ginsley Daly.
Although Philip was born in New York, he spent most of his childhood in Ireland. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of the West Alexander Presbyterian Church.
After his years of service in the Navy, Phil moved to West Alexander, where he met Judy. They were married for 67 years and had three beautiful children.
Over the years, he worked at Gast's Bakery, sold cars, and owned several businesses. In his retirement years, he drove a school bus for the McGuffey Independent School District.
Phil loved to mow grass and read the paper. He was especially proud of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Cynthia McCuen; and his sister, Eileen Daly.
He is survived by his wife, Julia "Judy" Hoge Daly; children, David (Barbara) Daly and Carol (Frank) Daly Moore; son-in-law, Scott McCuen; grandchildren, Jackson (Katy) Daly, Kristin Coury, Kathleen (Travis) Weisse, Julia (Jordan) Beaty, Kathryn Moore and Philip McCuen; and great-grandchildren, Charlie, Mya and Emmett Coury, and Marion June Daly.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, January 31, in West Alexander Presbyterian Church, 108 Main Street, West Alexander, PA 15376 (724-484-7542), where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 1, with Pastor Mike Camden officiating. Interment to follow in West Alexander Cemetery.
