Ray V. Thomas

Ray V. Thomas, 76, of Washington, died Wednesday, September 25, 2024, in the Washington Hospital. He was born September 3, 1948, in Waynesburg, a son of the late Frank Thomas and Isa Meeks Thomas. Known as "RT" to his friends and family, he was a very focused and successful businessman, owning and operating his own excavation company for 50 years. Mr. Thomas was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Taylorstown American Legion, the Moose Club, and the Elks. RT loved his Harley motorcycle and especially loved spending time with friends and family. Surviving are his wife, Patricia, whom he married August 29, 1975; a son, David (Vicki) Thomas; a daughter, Brenda Vebelun; one sister, Patty Thomas; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Mr. Thomas was predeceased by his parents, and 11 siblings. A service will be held at 1:45 p.m. Tuesday, October 1, in the chapel of Washington Cemetery. Those attending the chapel service are asked to meet at William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, between 1 and 1:15 p.m. for a procession to the cemetery at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to an animal-related charity.
