Richard Folle Obituary

Richard Anthony "Dick" Folle, 84, of Washington, passed away Thursday, December 28, 2023. He was born February 9, 1939, the son of the late Emma McCay. Dick was a 1957 graduate of California High School and a graduate of Penn Commercial. He started at Thorofare Markets as a stock boy and worked his way up to be a candy buyer and head of the Penny Fare division. His work ethic and aspirations led him to become an entrepreneur in the candy industry. Dick was a lifelong salesman and storyteller. His first love was flying, followed by family, his Italian heritage and hunting. He was an amazing father, grandfather and friend to all. Dick is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Denise. Surviving in addition to Denise is his best friend and brother, Larry Perna; brother, Ken Folle; children: Scott (Ann) Folle, Jill (Larry) Cersosimo and Nikki (Scott) Chambers; grandchildren: Derek, Jake, Lexi, Larry II, Chase, Gia and Capri; and great-grandson, Deegan. Dick lived a full and event-filled life, best summed up by the quote "Life is not a journey to the grave with intentions of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming WOW! What a ride!" At the request of the family, there is no viewing. Donations can be made to the American Heart Association, 444 Liberty Avenue, #1300, Pittsburgh, PA 15222; Washington Flyers' Club, 275 Airport Road, Washington, PA 15301; or East Buffalo Presbyterian Church, 180 E. Buffalo Church Road, Washington, PA 15301, where he was a member.

I just saw Dick's obituary on the internet and I can't stop crying. I just said to the kids on Christmas, I never heard from Dick this year and he always calls at Christmas time to make sure we're okay. The only thing not sad about this is my husband now has his best friend with him in heaven. He was a great friend to both of us and I will miss him very much.
God Bless You,
Beverly
