Robert Folman Obituary

Robert John Folman, 81, of Millsboro, died suddenly Saturday, August 9, 2025, in UPMC Washington. He was born July 16, 1944, in Waynesburg, a son of the late John and Mabel Folman. Bob was a 1963 graduate of Beth Center High School and a 1966 graduate of California State Teachers College. Soon after graduation, Bob was drafted into the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Bob was employed by the Intermediate Unit Waynesburg, where he taught special education for 30 years until his retirement. He was a devoted Catholic and served in many capacities in the church. Bob was a member of a band called The Thunderbirds in the 1960s, which brought him fond memories. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Surviving are several nieces and nephews; and his longtime companion, Lea DeVore. Deceased are siblings, Joseph Folman, William Folman, Charles Folman, Roseann Hess, Mary Lou Amborski, Kathryn Morford, Dorothy Scarso, and Betty Collage. A graveside memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, September 8, at Greene County Memorial Park, 1003 Jefferson Road, Waynesburg, PA 15370, with Fr. J. Francis Frazer officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the U.S. Army and the Greene County Honor Guard. Condolences may be expressed at www.behm-funeralhomes.com
