Robert L. Tomey

Robert L. Tomey, 81, of South Strabane Township, passed away peacefully Wednesday, February 19, 2025. He was born May 13, 1943, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late William E. and Irma E. Hoover Tomey, Sr. Mr. Tomey was a 1963 graduate of Peters Township High School. He then enlisted in the United States Army, where he served from 1966-1968 before being honorably discharged. Mr. Tomey was employed as a laborer in the heavy construction industry with the Eichleay Corporation for many years. He also shoed and trained horses in his younger years. In his latter years, he took up and enjoyed golfing and was a member of three different golf leagues. He even traveled to South Carolina to play in golf outings. Mr. Tomey was a past trustee of the B.P.O.E. Lodge #776 and was also a member of the American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post #175. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William E. Tomey, Jr. At the request of the deceased, there will be no public visitation. Burial will be private in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, where Full Military Rites will be accorded by the American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post #175 and the United States Army.
