They didn't believe he would have any normal brain activity or wake up due to not having oxygen for about 25 minutes... so the hug and his responding was amazing and quite shocking to say the least.
Grandpa woke up and looked at me. I said it's me Nathan your grandson and he smiled at me. He also squeezed my hand. I said do you remember me and he nodded. I asked if he was in pain and he shook his head no. I said I love you grandpa and he reached up to hug me n I kissed him on the forehead. He was trying to lip that he loved me too. This was the most he had done during this and one of the last things he did before taken off life support. He passed away around 3:30 am Feb 24, 2016. R.I.P. I LOVE YOU GRANDPA, AND WILL MISS YOU! FLY HIGH!

Thank you Aunt Renee for getting this picture that will forever help me remember this moment.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Ron. I worked with him at the bar. He was such a great person with a big heart. He was loved by all. And always had a listening ear. It has been 15 yrs since I have seen him. But he will always be remembered.
