Rose Courie Obituary

Rose Marie DePaoli Courie, 88, of Bethel Park, passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2023. Born on October 5, 1935, a daughter of the late Thresa and Charles "Chuck" Petro; Loving wife of the late James "Jim" Courie; mother of Robert J. (Courtney) Courie and John J. "JJ" (Joy) Courie; cherished grandmother of Isabella Rose, Zachary James, Nicholas Christian, Kurt John, and Colton Joseph. Beloved sister of Adele (Larry) Dellapiazza, and sister-in-law Robbie Petro. She was preceded in death by her siblings Bella (Skip) Albano, and Jimmy Petro. Rose is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Rose always held her family very close. Anytime she could, she enjoyed spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren. She graduated from Mercy School of Nursing in 1956, and she spent her working years at Washington Hospital as a Registered Nurse. Rose and Jim were avid Steelers fans, and would cherish the time they spent together as well. Above all else, Rose was loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at 10 a.m. at St. Benedict the Abbott, 120 Abington Rd., McMurray, PA 15317. Entombment will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
