Ross Bender Obituary

Ross Eugene Bender Jr., 57, of Washington, died Wednesday, July 31, 2019, in UPMC-Presbyterian hospital, Pittsburgh.

He was born August 5, 1961, in Carnegie, a son of the late Ross Eugene Bender Sr. and JoAnn Dufour Bender.

Ross was a graduate of Washington High School and worked as a groundskeeper at Washington Park.

He was a Catholic by faith.

Ross loved Halloween and Christmas and spending time online. He collected horror movies and was a Washington Prexies fan.

Ross was the family prankster and took great pleasure in giving everyone a unique nickname.

Surviving are two sisters, Karen Bender and Luann Ayres, both of Washington; five nieces and nephews; and three grandnieces and a grandnephew.

Deceased are two brothers, Jeff and Russ.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 6. Burial will follow at noon in Robinson Run Cemetery, McDonald.
